Carley, Wood Associates, Inc. was involved with the Wisconsin State Capitol Restoration project from its inception in 1985 to its completion in 2002. This is the most notable building in the State of Wisconsin and is considered the most elegant State Capitol in the country.
For this major project, CWAI was one of several subcontractors who worked together with the state government to produce a historic facelift for the Wisconsin State Capitol. During this period of time, CWAI was involved in 17 separate contracts for various types of woodworking. The main theme of these contracts was historic restoration, circa 1906-1919, and the recreation of pieces to match those areas being restored. The most significant areas were the Assembly Chambers and Parlor, Senate Chambers and Parlor, Governor's Office Suite and Conference Room, Supreme Court Chambers and Offices, and Hearing Rooms.
